Independent Qualified Person (IQP)
An Independant Qualified Person (IQP) is a person who is accepted by the Territorial Authority (Council) as being appropriately qualified to undertake the inspection and maintenance of the feature concerned.
Independent means that the person has no financial interest in the building.
Waikato Building Consent Group
The coordination of IQP and Producer Statement Author appliations has been handed over from Hamilton City Council to Waikato Building Consent Group. All applications must now be submitted to the group.
This process applies to the Councils in the Waikato Building Consent Group and other councils within the Waikato and Bay of Plenty Regions. These councils are as follows: Hamilton City Council, Hauraki District Council, Kawerau District Council, Matamata / Piako District Council, Opotiki District Council, Otorohanga District Council, Rotorua Lakes Council, Ruapehu District Council. South Waikato District Council, Taupo District Council, Tauranga City Council, Thames / Coromandel District Council, Waikato District Council, Waipa District Council, Waitomo District Council, Western Bay of Plenty District Council, Whakatane District Council.
