Titokorangi and Whakarewarewa Forest, also known as "The Redwoods", is is one of our district's most spectacular natural assets, famous for the magnificent towering Californian redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens). The main entrance to the forest area is only five minutes' drive away from the centre of Rotorua.
The area is most well-known for the network of superb mountain biking and walking tracks nestled amongst the enormous redwoods. These towering trees, combined with numerous other species like native fern and the fresh forest air, create an invigorating atmosphere and a truly unique and special environment.
