Development Contributions Policy
From 1 December 2022, if you’re subdividing, building, or connecting to council services, you may need to pay a development contribution fee.
The Development Contributions Policy outlines why development contributions are needed, what they fund, when they should be paid, and how much they’re likely to be.
The Policy will normally be reviewed on a three-yearly basis as part of the Long Term Plan process but may be updated at shorter intervals if Council considers it necessary. The most recent review came into effect 1 July 2024, and the next review will be no later than 1 July 2027.
If you wish to discuss the Development Contribution Policy please email LandDevelopment@rotorualc.nz or get in touch with our Customer Centre on 07 348 4199.
