A manager's certificate allows you to work as a duty manager in a business that sells or supplies alcohol, like a bar, restaurant or off-licence.
Applying for a new manager's certificate
Before you apply
To apply for a new manager's certificate, you need:
- To be at least 20 years old
- To have worked in a licensed premises full time for up to six months (at least 35 hours per week), or part time up to 12 months
- To be working in, or intending to own or run, a licensed business in Rotorua
- Identification such as a current NZ Drivers Licence or Passport
- A current dated character reference detailing the personal attributes and experience to support your application. The person cannot be associated to your licensed premise or related to you
- A current letter on letterhead from your employer detailing your conditions of employment and confirming support for your application
- To hold a Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ).
