Driving On - senior driving programme
Brush up on your driving skills in a safe and controlled environment with Driving On.
Once a year Council hosts a free, practical driving programme called 'Driving On' for drivers over 65 years of age.
This 1-day course is modelled on the Driver Directions course for young drivers. It's a great opportunity for seniors to refresh and improve their driving.
The next Driving On course will be held on 24 September 2025.

Important information if you want to attend
- Drivers must hold a full licence
- Waiver and evaluation forms must be completed
- You must bring your own vehicle
- Lunch is provided, please let us know of any dietary requirements.

International Kartsport Development Track, beside Off Road NZ, Mamaku.
About the Driving On programme
The course is aimed at refreshing and improving senior drivers' knowledge and experience of driving. It also shares the benefits of new vehicle technologies. This is a great opportunity for seniors to brush up on their driving skills in a safe and controlled environment with the help of reputed driving coaches.
