The objectives of the hub are as follows:
- Provide a central hub within the inner city from which a range of services including activations can be delivered to the public in line with the inner city revitalisation objectives.
- Improve visibility of Police and Safe City Guardians.
- Improve safety and decrease incidence of anti-social behaviour and criminal activity.
- Build confidence in inner city by having a central presence.
- Increase community engagement to ensure all stakeholders are kept abreast with what is happening in the inner city and elsewhere in Rotorua.
The Community Safety Hub serves as a central point for the co-ordination of all safety related services in the inner city with the following organisations having a presence in the hub:
- RLC Safe City Guardians
- NZ CBD Police and Crime Prevention
- Contracted Mobile Security
- Inner City Operations Manager
- Inner City Community Support Officer

In addition, the hub provides a central location from which to engage with local businesses.
We believe the hub has positively contributed to the inner city revitalisation and will continue to do so.
