Subject: LGOIMA request - The Landing redevelopment
I refer to your Official Information request of 27 November 2022 regarding The Landing development, and respond below as per your email:
- How much was Boffa Miskell paid for The Landing upgrade design?
The total design work, planning and resource consenting costs incurred by Boffa Miskell has been $87,802. - How
much has the project manager been paid?
Project Management costs associated with the toilet refurbishment and the current lake edge works, pedestrian and parking area upgrades has been $57,323. - What is the overall cost of the project to date?
The cost of all the work to date is $901,665. The Tourism Infrastructure Fund has contributed $293,056 to this project. - When will the project be completed as per the concept design plan?
All parts of the full concept design plan are not included in the current project. The toilet block has been completed and the lake edge, new jetty, pedestrian area and parking upgrade works are scheduled to be completed by 16 December 2022. There is still some park furniture to be placed around the site and a swimming pontoon installed during the summer, and some garden planting will occur in the autumn of 2023. The concept plan also included upgrade works to Punaromia and Council will work with the Tūhourangi Tribal Authority to develop this work during 2023. - What
are the allocated annual maintenance costs?
This has not been determined yet as the as-built measurements of the types of surface need to be completed before we can ascertain annual costs with our contractors. There will be some increased costs to tend gardens etc, but with the new lake edge walls and the jetty we expect lower reactive maintenance costs will be required for these structures. - How often will the site be maintained?
The toilets are cleaned daily over summer and 5 days a week over winter. Any maintenance requirements for the toilet block is recorded then. The general site is checked at least weekly during the summer and maintenance is dependent on what needs doing. The ramp is checked weekly over the summer and mowing will occur on a 2-3 week cycle depending on grass growth. Gardens are checked monthly and structures are checked every six months. Garden and structure maintenance will be carried out when required. Winter checks are less frequent but will still be occurring monthly or when an issue is notified to our customer service centre for attention.
