Subject: Information request - iPark contract
I refer to your email of 16 September 2022 regarding the i-Park contract. Your request was processed under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act (Act).
In answer to your queries, I provide the following responses:
- Do any council members, councillors or the Mayor receive any monetary or non-monetary benefits from what looks to be a very cosy relationship with an outside contractor around parking in the inner city.
No council members, councillors or the Mayor receive any monetary or non-monetary benefits from the contract with i-Park. - What is the contractor’s reputation, integrity
and performance like with any other clients – if they have any.
Council does not hold information on the opinion of i-Park’s reputation, integrity and performance with other clients. Therefore, this part of your request cannot be provided, as per section 17(e) of the Act ‘that the information requested does not exist’. - Just what due diligence took place and who carried this out.
Please refer to the news item on Council’s website HERE. As noted in the item, Council was exploring the potential for a partnership arrangement for parking services in 2017.
A request for proposals to provide parking services resulted in six responses. The six proposals were evaluated and a report and recommendation went to Council for consideration in December 2017. Attached is the report and an extract of the minutes of the Strategy Policy & Finance Committee meeting of 7 December 2017. The recommendation was subsequently adopted by Council at its meeting on 14 December 2017 (extract from the minutes attached). - Who promulgated this change at council and do they receive any ongoing monetary or non-monetary benefits from this cosy, and what’s looks like flawed arrangement.
As above, the change was considered and adopted by Council.
