Subject: TRIM: LGOIMA request - condolence books for Queen Elizabeth II
I refer to your Official Information request of 12 September 2022 querying why it took RDC over three days to post data on its website about the location of Rotorua’s QE2 Condolence Books.
The availability of a condolence book at the Civic Centre was initially promoted via RLC Facebook Friday 9 September and we also provided information to local media.
Information was uploaded to the council website on Monday (12 September) once arrangements for a second condolence book, in the library, were confirmed.
The presence of the condolence books will continue to be promoted on council’s social media channels and staff will encourage people who come in to the Civic Centre and the library to sign the books if they wish.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. The Ombudsman’s Office can be contacted by calling 0800 802 602, emailing info@ombudsman.parliament.nz, online at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz, or by post to The Ombudsman, PO Box 10152, Wellington 6143.
Publication of responses to LGOIMA requests
Please note: Our LGOIMA responses may be published on the Rotorua Lakes Council website after they have been responded to, with requesters’ personal details withheld. If you have any concerns about this please contact the Council on info@rotorualc.nz.
