Subject: LGOIMA - MSD and emergency housing motels compliance approach
I refer to your LGOIMA request of 24 May 2022 for the following information:
For the period 1 January 2021 to 23 May 2022:
- All communications between the Ministry of Social Development (including but not limited to the Minister of Social Development and her office) and Rotorua Lakes Council regarding the council’s ‘compliance approach’ to motels hosting emergency accommodation.
- All internal Rotorua Lakes Council communications regarding the Ministry of Social Development (including but not limited to the Minister of Social Development and her office) and the council’s ‘compliance approach’ to motels hosting emergency accommodation (defined as communications that discuss/invoke/mention the Ministry / Minister / her office in the context of the discussion of the council’s ‘compliance approach’ to motels hosting emergency accommodation).
I note Council advised that, as per section 14 of the Act, an extension of time of up to 10 days would be needed to provide the information due to the significant collation and analysis of communications over the requested timeframe to that concerning ‘compliance approach’ to motels hosting emergency accommodation.
