Subject: Official Information request - fire suppression systems
I refer to your Official Information request of 29 November 2021 for how many of RLC’s electrical switch rooms have fire suppressions systems, and if there is what type of suppression system eg: water sprinklers, gas flood, or other system.
The following Council owned buildings have fire sprinklers in the main switchboard rooms:
- Council Civic Building
- I-Site building
- Te Runanga Tea Rooms
- Off-site Museum storage building
- Rotorua Energy Events centre
- Sir Howard Morrison Centre (closed and under refurbishment)
- Te Whare Taonga o Te Arawa (Museum) (closed and development of refurbishment design underway)
All other sites have hand held equipment in specific areas that can be used for fire suppression.
