Subject: LGOIMA request - rates charged
I refer to your email of 26 September 2019 requesting various rating information for the 2019/20 rating year, and respond below as per your email:
- Provide, for each property category group as defined in the Rating Valuation Rules, the total rates charged for your council for the 2019/20 rating year. For each category group please also provide the total land value, total capital value, and total hectares, and the number of properties in each group.Contained in the attached spreadsheets - 2019-10-02_assessed amount (A) and 2019-10-02_Category code in DVR (B)
- Provide the median land value, median capital value, median hectares, and median rates charged, for each property category group, as in item (1).This can be analysed from the spreadsheets referred to in (1).
- Provide the same information for all those properties that have been charged zero rates in the 2019/20 year.Contained in the attached spreadsheet - 2019-10-02_non rateable (C)Note 1: These are the non-rateable properties for general rates. If any properties incur service charges the properties will also be included in the 2019-10-02_assessed amount (A) spreadsheet.Note 2: Properties that receive a 100% rates remission are not included ie: Maori Freehold Land. There are approximately 600 of these properties.
- Total number of properties in the rating database.29,750 rating units plus 479 apportionments
- Projected 2019/20 rates revenue as disclosed in the 2019/20 Annual Plan.The Rotorua Lakes Council 2019/20 Annual Plan is available at the following link - https://www.rotorualakescouncil.nz/our-council/council-publications/AnnualPlan/Pages/default.aspxThe major variance is revenue from water by meter not included in the attached spreadsheet (A)
