Subject: LGOIMA response - Citizenship Ceremonies
I refer to your email of 12 august 2019 regarding citizenship ceremonies hosted by Rotorua Lakes Council and respond below as per your email:
- What funding does the council receive from central government for hosting/performing these ceremonies?$15 per person funding is received from Department of Internal Affairs
- In the last 12 months, what gifts of any kind, has the mayor/deputy received from citizenship recipients/families/supporters?No gifts have been received from recipients/families/supporters
- In the last 12 months, what fees/remuneration/allowances etc has the mayor/deputy received for performing such ceremonies?There is no separate remuneration for the mayor and/or councillors for attending citizenship ceremonies
