Subject: TRIM: LGOIMA request - rates and charges on retirement villages
I refer to your email of 10 December 2018 regarding rates and charges on retirement villages, and reply below as per your email:
- Do you charge your general rate on capital or land value? Capital value
- Do you charge a UAGC, if so what is your current charge? Yes, currently $500.00 excluding GST
- In respect of Retirement Villages do you charge the UAGC as:
- One unit for the whole village (Sec 15(1)(a) of the Rating Act); or
- One charge for every separately used or inhabited part (Sec 15(1)(b) of the Rating Act).If each dwelling has an individual title then each rating unit receives a separate UAGC. If everything is on one title then only one UAGC is charged.
- Do you have specific provisions in your Annual or Long Term Plan relating to Retirement Villages? No
- Would you like to receive the results of this survey? No thank you
