I refer to your email of 30 August requesting contact details of Council's media relations person, and a list of names of Councillors who voted for the Polynesian Spa price increase.

The proposed increases to the Polynesian Spa admission charges were discussed at the Council meeting on 24 August. This discussion was held in 'public excluded' under the following clauses of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act:

48 Right of local authorities to exclude public

1. Subject to subsection (3), a local authority may by resolution exclude the public from the whole or any part of the proceedings of any meeting only on 1 or more of the following grounds:

(a) that the public conduct of the whole or the relevant part of the proceedings of the meeting would be likely to result in the disclosure of information for which good reason for withholding would exist,

7 Other reasons for withholding official information

(2) Subject to sections 6, 8, and 17, this section applies if, and only if, the withholding of the information is necessary to

(b) protect information where the making available of the information

(ii) would be likely unreasonably to prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied or who is the subject of the information;

All discussion and outcomes regarding this item are withheld under the above clauses.
