Topic: InfraCore strikes called off

*NOTE: the following was sent to the RLC organisation and the Mayor’s office.

I understand InfraCore and the unions have come to an agreement and there will be no further strike action.

Just wanted to ask if the council or mayor would like to give any comment on this, the impact the strikes had, or anything else on the matter.

From Group Manager Infrastructure and Environment – Stavros Michael:

We encountered no major issues we could not effectively address during this period and we will continue to work with InfraCore to return to their business as usual services.

From the Mayor:

The Mayor indicated she had no further comment to make (additional to comment provided previously).

Topic: Morey St dam project

I was curious to know more about the Morey St Dam project.

Hearing the comments about additional work at the meeting on Wednesday, could it please be explained what has changed since the above was published?

What were the additional works and why needed?

Please include any cost difference and what for.

We informed the reporter that an item relating to the Morey St dam project was on the agenda for I&E on 6 March and was dealt with in confidential, as per the agenda HERE (see reference to Morey St on p23).

We informed her that report would become public on Thursday (4 April) and she would be able to find all the information about it then. We invited the reporter to come back to us if, after reading the report, there was anything further she wanted.

Topic: Confidential meeting re museum construction contract

Enquiry

can I ask if anything will be sent out following the extraordinary meeting today? Noting the only item [‘construction contract for the Rotorua Museum – Te Whare Taonga o Te Arawa’] is in confidential.
