Response
From Mayor Chadwick:
It's great for Rotorua that we are at the table and I was very pleased to be asked.
The taskforce will need to move nimbly and innovatively to identify and address issues and opportunities to shape and support the recovery of New Zealand tourism.
Coming from Rotorua, the heart of New Zealand tourism, I know the sector's story well and I look forward to our first taskforce meeting to set goals and objectives and get things underway.
This will be an opportunity to support the recovery of tourism and ensure we build a tourism future that is sustainable - that's something Minister Davis has indicated is an outcome he is seeking.
I'm happy to be co-chair alongside Grant Webster, with whom I co-chaired the national responsible camping taskforce.
