Rotorua Review requested comment from Mayor Chadwick regarding the Maxim Report:

Firstly I wanted to ask whether Steve agrees with what seems to be the main thrust of the report, as concerns Rotorua - that a falling population sets in motion declines in the economy and infrastructure?

The report seems to suggest Rotorua is among the centres facing an inevitable population decline - again does Steve agree with that premise?

The report also suggests accepting this as a demographic reality, and altering policy to in effect 'manage decline' - again can I ask for Steve's view on this?

Lastly, is there anything key to Rotorua - perhaps tourism for example - that she thinks is missing from the report?
