Topic: Fletcher Tabuteau's contribution to Rotorua
Enquiry
I am doing a piece about Fletcher T's contributions as a bit of a farewell to him as a local MP. I was keen to include some comments from the mayor if possible please.
My questions are:
In the mayor's view, how has Fletcher improved the lives of Rotorua residents?
What will she miss about having him as a local MP?
Anything else she would like to add is welcome.
Response
From Mayor Steve Chadwick:
Fletcher has been an additional Rotorua voice at Central Government level and played a key role in helping to gain funding to enable transformational projects that will reinvigorate our place and support employment and economic development. He can be very proud of that.
He and his office have always been very willing to help us and to take local issues to Central Government, and I have enjoyed working with him to get stuff done for Rotorua.
He is a thoroughly nice guy and we wish him well for his next opportunity - which I'm sure will come.
