I saw [Mayor] Steve [Chadwick] spoke at the meeting [last Thursday], and was hoping to get a comment from her now she has had time to process the public response.

- What is your reaction to the public worries about the service?

- How do you feel about the public desire to launch an independently funded service?

- Will you be attending the November 3 meeting?

It's too early to say re attendance at the next hui but feel free to check closer to the time. See below from the mayor in response to your enquiry:

From Mayor Steve Chadwick:

This is an important service for our community and one the public is clearly passionate about. Maintaining levels of service is key and that's what I've impressed on the Minister. I'm aware there are ongoing discussions between the district health board and the Ministry of Health and that some in the community are considering the viability of an independently funded service. I will await the outcome of these discussions before commenting further.

I've got it noted down to expect the report from the independent flood review panel this month. I just wanted to see if this was still the case and when it might be made public?
