Topic: Illegal Dumping

Inquiry

I wanted to ask about the camera signs on Mountain Rd.

Firstly I wanted to confirm that cameras are in place on Mountain Rd?

Secondly I wanted to ask whether council has any footage that may help apprehend anyone who may be responsible for some of the illegal dumping there?

Signs and CCTV cameras are used as a deterrent. They are moved around various locations so catching offenders on camera is a matter of timing and we don't currently have any prosecutions pending as a result of CCTV footage.

The CCTV camera signs remain up so that we can install them at any time and we have plans to use cameras more often to help reduce the incidence of illegal dumping in our community.
