Enquiry
Further questions following receipt of RLC’s initial response yesterday:
Is it possible to say how many of the 13 have a BWOF? And if any that should have one, do not? You state only that those with systems need one – not if they actually have a current one.
What is the determination number?
What is the wording of RLC’s request for a determination?
I note one document [provided yesterday in response to initial request for information] refers to RLDC last October having ‘over 100 sole emergency accommodation providers’ and seeking FENZ help over compliance checks.
If RLDC can shed light on these and subsequent interactions with FENZ, and on how FENZ inspections interact with BWOF audits/IQP checks, that would be useful.

Re MBIE determination number: There is no number until the determination is issued.
Re wording of RLC’s request to MBIE for a determination re whether motel changing from holiday accommodation to emergency housing provision constitutes a change of use: see application attached with redactions made under s7(2)(a) of LGOIMA ‘to protect the privacy of natural persons’
Re working with FENZ: RLC has a good working relationship with FENZ and seeks its advice at times when, for example, RLC is considering whether a building is dangerous in respect of fire safety. The document you refer to related to one such occasion where RLC sought FENZ advice, acted on that in issuing a dangerous building notice and then acted on subsequent FENZ advice in withdrawing that notice.
Just as RLC may contact FENZ for advice from time to time, they also let RLC know if they note something relevant to RLC’s work as part of their inspections or if they get a complaint or report about a building that they investigate.

Sounds like a wonderful app for kōrero tuku iho. Do you have any te reo Māori speaking kaikōrero that would be free to speak with our presenter of Manako on Sunday?
Pōhaturoa Waenga will be the interviewer over the phone, the interview usually ranges from 7-15mins in length. We have time for an IV between 10-2pm this coming Sunday.
Radio waatea also sought an interview with the app developer.
