Topic: Acacia Rd boat ramp
Enquiry
[follow-up to yesterday's media enquiry regarding CCTV at Acacia Road boat ramp]:
Can I please clarify, the mobile security camera that will be put out there, is that the same one we've seen put up at Kuirau Park and Pukuatua St and at events etc from time to time (just want to use a file photo of it so want to make sure it's right one).
Also, when you say this line below, does that mean the camera will appear there sometime within the next fortnight and will remain there for a month? If so, can I ask why it isn't being put there immediately? What's the hold up for a fortnight? (I'm asking because residents will ask).
A temporary CCTV camera will be installed at the Acacia Road boat ramp in the next fortnight to monitor use of the boat ramp for the next month.
Response
Yes that's correct, it is the same camera.
Just for your information, and not for comment - The fortnight is to the give contractors enough time to install it, but it is likely to be installed this weekend.

Topic: Mayor comment during committee meeting
Enquiry
Can the mayor please clarify what she meant when she said in the [Operations and Monitoring Committee] meeting today:
"I've looked at the allegation made on the website and it is factually incorrect, and I wish to serve notice here that I demand an apology and a retraction of that statement on the Rotorua Residents and Ratepayers website and will consider further action."
What would that "further action" entail?
Response
The reporter was advised that this matter was discussed in detail in the meeting which should have answered his query.
Reporter noted that from the discussion in the meeting, "further action" was defined as a possible formal complaint.

Topic: LGNZ discussions with mayors re housing
Enquiry
Looks like the PM had a discussion today with LGNZ and some mayors about housing. https://www.instagram.com/p/CL73Uv4gWZ0/
Was Steve part of this?
If so, I'd be keen to hear from her on what was discussed, if there were any outcomes and how that might impact Rotorua. Also if the mayor made any points about Rotorua to the PM, and if so what they were?
Response
Mayor Chadwick was not involved in that particular discussion however, the Prime Minister is very aware of the housing situation in Rotorua and of the Homes and Thriving Communities Strategic Framework that is guiding our work in this space. It's encouraging to know that these discussions are happening across the board.
