Just wondering if Rotorua Nui might be able to help me out with something. I'm working on a follow-up to the move to level 2 and was hoping to have a bit of a list about what events have been cancelled.
Response
Regarding event cancellations as a result of Alert Level 2, the information received to date is as follows:
Decisions made
- Rotorua Night Market for Thursday 4 March cancelled
- 100 Women Rotorua galleria exhibition postponed from 5 March to 11 March
- Copthorne Rotorua Off Road Half Marathon postponed from 7 March to 28 March
- Dairy Awards postponed from 2 March to April. New date to be confirmed.
- GodZone powhiri cancelled for 4 March (powhiri only.)
- Ngati Whakaue Whānau Day for 7 March has been postponed. New date to be confirmed.
- Aotearoa Cuban Festival (6 March) cancelled
- Waiata Mai (singing sessions at the library first Thursday of each month) is cancelled
- All children's programmes at the library are cancelled until we are back in Level 1, however the Youth and Early Learning team will be uploading a preschool programme to the library's YouTube and Facebook accounts
- Envirohub is going ahead with their Sustainable Backyard events in Te Aka Mauri, with social distancing measures in place.
Decisions pending
- Rotorua Farmers Market for Sunday 7 March (dependent on move to level 1)
- Music at the Band Rotunda for Sunday 7 March (dependent on move to level 1)
- Industry Business - A client's perspective (3 March) looking possibility of Zoom instead
- Rotorua Basketball practice (various days over this week)

- Blackadder (Shambles Theatre) (5-20 March)
- Opus performances (Mahy Magic and Made for Opus)(6 March)
