Get involved in your local government
Each month, Council and its two Committees (Community and District Development Committee and Infrastructure and Environment Committee) hold formal meetings. Everyone is welcome to get involved with Council, Committee and Community Board meetings. Meetings are important for facilitating open, transparent communication and public participation.
The Rotorua Rural Community Board and the Rotorua Lakes Community Board also meet each month. Council’s Audit and Risk Committee has four scheduled meetings per year.
Meeting agendas are available five working days before the meeting date. You can watch the livestream online, find minutes or presentations of recent meetings or watch previous meetings on demand. Visit the Public Forum page for information on how you can apply to speak at the monthly Council meeting.
Standing orders
Standing orders are rules for the conduct of Council, committee and community board meetings. They facilitate an open, transparent and accountable decision-making process.
