Subject: Official Information request - Goudies Road resealing
I refer to your Official Information request of 31 March 2022 for a copy of the full roading report on Goudies Road, Reporoa, regarding advice on why Goudies Road needs to be chip sealed between Rawhiti Road junction and Plateau Road junction.
Council does not hold a full roading report on Goudies Road, or for any other sites surveyed for resealing. An annual network survey is carried out to determine Council’s 3-year forward programme, generally based on the age of the existing sealed surface and/or surface condition. Council typically surveys in the order of 700-800 individual sites per year, and upon inspection, a decision is made in the field to either resurface or defer for each site.
There are three individual sites on Goudies Road that are now beyond the design life for the existing surface material (surfacing data provided below):
Surface ID | Road | Start | End | Length | Function | Surface Material | Surface Date | Age | Surface Width | Design Life | Design Expiry | 1st Chip Size | 2nd Chip Size |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
4006 | GOUDIES RD | 0 | 1341 | 1341 | Reseal | Two Coat Seal | 30/10/2007 | 14 | 7.1 | 12 | 2019 | 2 | 4 |
3993 | GOUDIES RD | 1341 | 6661 | 5320 | Reseal | Single Coat Seal | 30/10/2007 | 14 | 7 | 6 | 2013 | 5 | |
4007 | GOUDIES RD | 6661 | 8850 | 2189 | Reseal | Two Coat Seal | 30/10/2007 | 14 | 7.1 | 12 | 2019 | 2 | 4 |
The three Goudies Road sites have therefore been included in the 2022/23 resealing programme.
