Subject: LGOIMA request - Cr Macpherson code of conduct costs

I refer to your LGOIMA request of 27 July 2021 regarding the code of conduct complaints against Cr Reynold Macpherson. I have provided a response to your specific questions below:

• How much has this code of conduct complaint/s cost the council to date - including but not limited to legal fees, consultant fees and staff time (please specify and categorise these costs).
  Following are the known costs incurred to date:
  $3,000 – Audit and Risk meeting fees for Chair, Deputy Chair, Te Tatau rep
  $0 – legal fees
  $0 – consultant fees
  Council does not record staff time (or cost) spent on individual matters; this is carried out as part of the usual business work of staff
• I understand an independent investigator has been sought to deal with these complaint/s - has this been confirmed and how much is it expected to cost?
  Independent investigators from Local Government NZ have been engaged to investigate the complaint/s. This cost is unknown at this time.
