Subject: Official Information request - Sister City Agreement with Wuzhong, China
I refer to your Official Information request of 16 July 2021 for a copy of the Sister or Friendly City Agreement, Accord, Memoranda of Understanding or similar formal commitment made between Rotorua Lakes (District) Council and the city of Wuzhong.
On 18 February 2000 the Mayor of Rotorua, Grahame Hall, signed an Agreement of Sister City Relationship between the City of Rotorua and Wuxian, the People’s Republic of China (attached).
In early 2001 the city of Wuxian was restructured and divided into Wuzhong District and Xiangchen District.
Council continued the same Sister City Relationship with Wuzhong District as had been established with Wuxian City.
