I refer to your email of 3 June requesting information on:

• Any and all live resource consent applications for the establishment and operation of egg layer facilities using colony cages
• Any and all live resource consent applications for the conversation of egg layer facilities from battery cages to colony cages
• Any and all notification decisions regarding the establishment and operation of egg layer facilities using colony cages

Rotorua Lakes Council are not processing, nor have we ever approved, any resource consents for egg layer facilities using colony cages.

Under legislation we are obliged to advise that if you have any concerns with the adequacy of our response you may contact the Ombudsman by writing to:
