Subject: Official Information request - parking complaints/fines and Parking Wardens fines/threats against
I refer to your online Official Information requests of 11 March 2021. Apologies for the one day delay in replying as I was on leave yesterday.
I respond below as per your two requests:
Request 1 - parking complaints/fines
The number of complaints received about on-street parking each year for the past five years (January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2020).
Total = 3,052
This includes 'parking enquiries' (933), 'requests for action' (667) and parking 'happening now' (1,452) requests. There is no specific category for parking complaint.
Please note that parking enquiries may also contain items other than complaints so is an estimate.
Please provide the number of cars which were fined over the five-year period.
RLC has no data on this prior to the implementation of the parking services contract as it was not collected.
Since i-Park scan car implementation (1/5/19 to 31/12/20) - 23,582 vehicles.
Please provide the number of cars which were towed over the five-year period.
