I refer to your email of 7 September 2020 requesting staff, contractor and remuneration information for the purposes of the 2020 Ratepayer's Report for the Taxpayers' Union.
The following information is for the 2018/19 financial year.
- Staff Numbersa. The FTE number of staff employed by the Council (excluding any staff employed by council controlled organisations) as at 30 June 2019.336.08 (as per the Rotorua Lakes Council 2018/19 Annual Report)b. The FTE number of staff employed by the Council (including any staff employed by council controlled organisations) as at 30 June 2019.538.48 (including Rotorua Lakes Council and three CCOs - Infracore Ltd, Rotorua Regional Airport Ltd, Rotorua Economic Development Ltd)c. The total number of any severance payments made to staff (including payments to staff employed by council-controlled organisations). Please only include payments that are made above and beyond any payment that is required to be made under an employment agreement.4 (including Rotorua Lakes Council and three CCOs - Infracore Ltd, Rotorua Regional Airport Ltd, Rotorua Economic Development Ltd) d. The total dollar value of any severance payments made to staff (including payments to staff employed by council-controlled organisations). The total number of staff (including those employed by council-controlled organisations) receiving remuneration in excess of $200,000.11 (including Rotorua Lakes Council and three CCOs - Infracore Ltd, Rotorua Regional Airport Ltd, Rotorua Economic Development Ltd)
- Contractor Numbersa. The total value of payments made by the Council (or any council-controlled organisations) to any company or individual contracted by the Council to provide a service.$21,052,614.96 (GST exclusive) (includes Council payments to council-controlled organisations)This is the total amount coded to contractors' in Council's financial system. Council does not break contractor information down into the detail requested Please assume an individual contractor to be a firm or sole proprietor who is providing a service or services that are the same or substantially similar to that of an employee (i.e. the contractor is (or can be) based on council premises and uses Council equipment) but charges a fee for their services through time billing.' For this reason any further breakdown is declined under section 17(e) that the document alleged to contain the information requested does not exist 'b. The FTE number of contractors (i.e. individual positions) the payments in (a) equate.Council does not hold records of the FTE number of individual positions within its contractors. This part is therefore declined under section 17(g) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act that the information requested is not held by the local authority 'c. - CEO Remunerationa. The total remuneration paid to the Council's Chief Executive during the 2018/2019 Financial Year $390,371 (as per the 2018/19 Annual Report)
