I refer to your email of 15 December 2020 regarding 'farming' rates revenue. Your request has been processed under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act.

Below is the percentage breakdown of the General Rate, and Business and Economic Development Rate (BED) applicable to Farming, Business and Residential:

General Rate - Total set for 2019/20 - $45,257,928

Farming: 19%

Business: 21.6%

Residential: 59.4%

Business and Economic Development Rate (BED) - Total rates for 2019/20 - $6,192,028

Farming: 9.72%

Business 80.7%

Industrial: 9.58%

Based on the Farming apportionment of the General Rate as above and the Financial Impact Statement from the 2019/20 Annual Report, below is the split for Farming across Council's major activities (excluding any fixed charge, if any, that some farms may be liable for):
