Subject: LGOIMA request - Mayoral expenses and Mayoral car

I refer to your email of 12 October 2020 under LGOIMA for the total amount the mayor has spent since being elected in 2019, and details of the mayoral car.

Please find attached a schedule showing the purchases Mayor Steve Chadwick has made with her purchase card from 12 October 2019 to 13 October 2020.

The mayoral car is a Lexus NX300H 2.5PH/4WD/CVT with an approximate value of $87,300 (GST inclusive). The purchase price of Council vehicles is commercially sensitive as they are purchased through an All of Government contract. The purchase cost of the Mayor's vehicle is withheld under clause 7(2)(i) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 'enable any local authority holding the information to carry on, without prejudice or disadvantage, negotiations (including commercial and industrial negotiations)'. Council can confirm however the purchase price is within the band of $60k-$65k (GST inclusive). This is below the remuneration authority cap of $65k including GST for a Hybrid vehicle.
