Subject: TRIM: LGOIMA request - Mamaku drinking fountain
I refer to your online Official Information request regarding the installation and theft of a drinking fountain at the Mamaku playground, and the possible installation and disappearance of a second drinking fountain.
The drinking fountain for the Mamaku playground was part of a special one-off project where specially designed fountains were installed in selected community locations. These fountains were specifically produced for the selected locations.
One of these drinking fountains was installed at the Mamaku playground on 4 March 2016 (location plan attached). On the following Monday (7 March) it was discovered that the drinking fountain had been stolen (photo attached). The stolen fountain was not replaced as this was a one-off project and only a limited number of fountains were produced. There is no record of a second fountain being installed.
I can confirm however that a standard drinking fountain is to be installed at the Mamaku playground as soon as possible in the new financial year (1 July 2019-30 July 2020).
