Official Information Request - 3 May 2018
Sent: Friday, 25 May 2018 10:02 a.m.
Subject: Information request - Mamaku Village
I refer to your website request of 3 May 2018 for information covering the 1988-2018 period on:
- Rates income from Mamaku village
- Water rates income
- Council expenditure on Mamaku Village
- Copies of plans for Mamaku
- Information on open drains on Umuroa and Okoheriki Streets
As you can appreciate, your request covers a significant period of time. As Council has had a number of software changes over this period the information requested would also not be available for the whole 30 years.
After preliminary investigation it has been estimated that what in formation could be provided would take staff approximately 100 hours to research and collate. Under clause 13(1A) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act, Council may charge a fee for this work. Council's normal approach is to charge $38 per half hour or part thereof (after the first hour), as per the Ministry of Justice guidelines. Therefore the work required for your request would incur a cost of $7,600.
For this reason, Council has made the decision to decline that part of your request under section 17(f) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, specifically "that the information requested cannot be made available without substantial collation or research".
With reference to the other items in your request, attached are the following Mamaku development and stormwater documents/plans:
- Report to Infrastructure Services Committee - June 2011 - Rural Street Improvement Programme
- Mamaku Development Plan
- Mamaku Stormwater Catchment Management Plan (personal information in Appendix C has been redacted as per section 7(2)(a) of the Act "protect the privacy of natural persons")
As per the Act, we are obliged to advise that you may contact the Ombudsman at the address below if you have any concerns with the response provided by Council, by writing to:
