Subject: LGOIMA request - Spencer's Oak and other braced trees
I refer to your email of 11 January 2018 requesting various documents pertaining to Spencer's Oak and the other braced trees in Rotorua.
Attached is all documentation held regarding the Oak tree
This information also includes a statement from the Open Spaces Operations Advisor -Horticulture (item 10) for work that has been done in relation to various reports that Council cannot locate or do not have the records for.
With regard the other braced trees, a list of these trees is included with the attached information (part item 8). Bracing was installed on these trees as part of regular maintenance inspections. There is no correspondence or reports regarding safety concerns and conditions for these trees. These trees continue to be inspected annually by Infracore.
Council's usual practice with LGOIMA information is that it goes online as soon as it has been sent to the requestor. However, considering the amount of information being provided, we want to give you the opportunity and time to read it through, then on Monday 12 February Operations Group Manager Henry Weston will be available at Council at 9.30am to take you through and explain the documentation, and answer any additional questions you may have.
