Subject: Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act - Weathertight Claims
I refer to your email of 2 May requesting information in relation to claims made for leaky houses and respond as below:
- Names, addresses and email details of weathertight claimants in your council's area that were still to settle at the time information was transferred to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).As claims are made through MBIE (formerly the Department of Building and Housing) Rotorua Lakes Council does not hold this information. We suggest you contact MBIE for information on claims lodged within the Rotorua district and are still to settle at the time, we presume from your question, MBIE was formed.
- The financial provision your council has made for its portion of any future weathertight claim settlements.
Our current provision for any potential future WHRS claims is $125,000
