can I please get some quick comment on the power outage, its cause and what's being done to restore power/control traffic etc?

What traffic lights are down, how should people behave etc?

NZTA says it was council in charge of this.

Someone on social media mentioned there was a big bang at the malfroy rd transformer station, was there an incident here?

Advice to residents?

Response

While we were working on this enquiry, power was fully restored. We provided the following information:

As you’ll be aware power is now fully restored.

Other than traffic lights being affected during the outage, there were no other issues with council services. We have in-situ and mobile generators to keep water services operating during outages.

You’ll need to contact Unison about the transformer at Malfroy Rd.

You’ll need to contact Unison about the power outage itself.

We subsequently also provided the following additional information:

The library closed during the power outage as it was without lights and air conditioning and lifts and digital services were impacted.
