Enquiry
A Herald story today has revealed the amount of money already spent on Kainga Ora homes that the Government has told to halt.
In Rotorua, there are 34 projects for 190 homes where $15.4 million has already been spent.
Is someone from Kāinga Ora able to answer the following please?
- Do you think it's good to halt these projects and see if the money is being spent wisely?
- Time is ticking for the Government to wind down emergency housing motels in Rotorua. Given the number of projects halted in Rotorua, are you concerned about the build programme in Rotorua or are you confident there have been enough homes already built?
- Do you have any updated figures on how many homes will definitely be delivered in the future?
This story I did in July said 110 homes were under review but the Herald story today says 190 homes. Is there any explanation why it's more? Where have the extra 80 homes come from?
