Inquiry
We really want to know what [OneCouncil - council's new online system] it will mean for the public. As per original questions.
- I understand it will take 18 months for "the change over", which does seem a long time, but what will ratepayers get out of this $3.2 million spend? What will they see, be able to do etc in the long run?
- And why is it going to take so long for the change over? If it's "Out of the box" and 25 other councils have it, then surely it won't take long?
- Also, will you need to hire additional staff? Or will current staff just be re-trained?
Response
Response from Rotorua Lakes Council's Chief Financial Officer, Thomas Coll:
Council needs to migrate more than 500 processes to the new system which needs to be done without disruption to services and it will take about 18 months to systematically work through that.
