I have a copy of a legal letter that has been sent to Richard Bird from Helen White Law on behalf of staff at the Aquatic Centre.

The letter is asking for a halt in the out-sourcing process, claiming legal breaches which they intend to take to the Employment Relations Authority.

Is someone at the council prepared to comment on the letter and whether they intend to halt the process?

From Operations Group Manager Henry Weston:

There is a process underway and we see no benefit in conducting that process through the media. Our focus is on continuing to work in good faith with staff and their union representatives and we have no further comment at this time.
