Response
Please attribute to Rotorua Lakes Council's Sustainable Journeys Coordinator, Rachel Doelman:
The success of last year's inaugural Tweed Ride prompted us to turn it into an annual event. The Tweed Ride is about dressing up in tweed and celebrating cycling by going for short social rides around Rotorua's urban cycleway network. We held the event last year as a fun way to encourage people of all ages and cycling ability to get on their bikes and experience what CyWays has to offer. What's clear is that from last year, people really enjoyed themselves so it made sense to celebrate the event annually. An up to eight kilometre easy ride that suits all cyclists including children, who need to be supervised on the journey, and is a great family activity.
