Topic: Post-storm review panel

In regards to the post-storm review the following questions were asked.
1. the independent advisory panel with operate independently of the council and the Bay of Plenty Regional Council?
2. the independent advisory panel will utilise the services of professional agencies, as the BOP Regional Council did when examining the Edgecumbe event?

Response from Chief Executive Geoff Williams -
Rotorua Lakes Council and Bay of Plenty Regional Council are working together and have co-commissioned a review to consider future flood mitigation and prevention measures for Rotorua.
As part of that work together Rotorua Lakes Council and Bay of Plenty Regional Council will decide the terms of reference and select an advisory panel made up of members who are independent of both councils.
The selection of panel members is yet to be finalised.
In the first instance the panel will be supported by technical staff from both councils however should a broader or alternative view the panel will seek external technical advice.

Topic: Parking services changes

In regards to the release about the new parking technology -
The release says this: Options for staff who will be impacted by the contract are being worked through with the staff and their union representatives.
Questions
- How many staff will be impacted?
- By impacted, does this mean made redundant or are there options for those staff to be employed by i-park? If redundant, do you know numbers yet?

The change will directly impact three staff, two of which have already been re-deployed to other roles within Council and we are working with a third on options.
