Topic: Dog attack in Kaingaroa

Inquiry

I'm following up on the police officer attacked last night by dogs.

- can you please tell me how many dogs you took charge of last night at this incident?

- What breeds are they?

- What is being done with them now?

- Have animal control had to deal with these particular dogs and their owner before? If so how?

As this matter is before the courts we are limited in what we can say

However we can tell you that Council dog control staff uplifted a female Rottweiler cross and a female Staffordshire terrier cross.

The two dogs are being held in the pound until Police give the okay to release.
