Response
Response from Rosemary Viskovic - Strategic Development Manager- Sustainability and Social Development.
The work Council is doing with groups such as Kai Rotorua help to achieve one of the district's Vision 2030 goals of building a resilient community that is inclusive, liveable and safe and that gives residents a sense of place and the confidence to be involved and connected. It also aligns with objective two of the district's Sustainable Living Strategy.
Alongside Healthy Families Rotorua and Toi te Ora Public Health Council has supported the development of Kai Rotorua by providing a meeting space and helping to share their work with the wider community.
Council has also supported some of their projects such as the kumara harvest through grants from the Neighbourhood Matching Fund.
We continue to encourage Kai Rotorua and other groups to take opportunities to get support and funding from Council through avenues such as the Annual and Long-term plans and Council's range of community grants.
