Enquiry
Today I'm working on a brief story to run in tomorrow's paper which basically says today is election day, here's where you can place you voting papers today up until 12pm, here's when results will be out etc.
I was wondering if firstly you would confirm the locations people can still place their papers tomorrow, and secondly whether the council chief executive would be willing to provide a few comments about the fact we'll have a new council come Monday, maybe whether he's looking forward to seeing the result and getting started with the new term or something along those lines, and whether [Council CE] Geoff [Williams] would be willing to be in a photo outside the council building (or maybe inside looking at the weather) to accompany the story?
If Geoff is not available would anyone else be?
Response
Voting info as follows (info only, not a quote):
Completed voting forms can be dropped off at Rotorua Lakes Council or Te Aka Mauri Rotorua Library during regular business hours up until 12noon tomorrow (Saturday 12 October).
Special votes can be made at Rotorua Lakes Council during regular business hours up until 12noon tomorrow.
The following quote is from Council Chief Executive Geoff Williams:
Following the election results over the weekend I'm looking forward to understanding how the new Council wants to respond to some of the key challenges outlined in the pre-election report such as housing availability, inner city revitalisation and safety, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and the reintroduction of the four wellbeings into local government.
