On 6 November 2024, the District Court on the application of Rotorua Lakes Council granted an injunction order under section 162 of the Local Government Act 2002:
- Preventing any person from stopping, obstructing, or interfering with the installation of a pipeline along Tarawera Road for the purpose of the Tarawera Wastewater Reticulation Scheme.
- Restricting access to the defined work zone for the construction period and providing for access to the Lake Rotokakāhi boat ramp for authorised individuals only.
- Restricting the parking of vehicles within the defined work zone during the active construction period without prior authorisation from Rotorua Lakes Council.
- Preventing the building of structures within the work zone during the construction period and empowering Rotorua Lakes Council to demolish and remove any structures that remain after 24 hours of service of the Orders.

Rotorua Lakes Council is empowered to apply to the District Couty for a variation of these orders at any time. Any variation will be published as the Court directs.
