Pay an invoice online
If you have your invoice to hand, you can pay it quickly here with credit or debit card through our secure payment gateway.
You will need these unique details from the ‘Ways to pay’ section in your invoice:
- the particulars
- the code.
These details enable Council to see which invoice has been paid and the person responsible for the payment.
Pay your rates online
So that we can process your rates payment correctly, you will need:
- your invoice number
- the particulars
- the code
- the owner's name and email address.

Pay a parking fine
Pay a fine, check the processing status or dispute an infringement online via the i-Park website.
Pay for dog registration
You can pay for a new dog registration or renew one on our Dogs Online portal. All dogs over three months must be registered or renewed each year by 30 June.
Other ways to pay an invoice
If you have trouble accessing our payment gateway or you want to pay by another method, you can also:
- Pay through online banking
- Pay in person.
Internet banking
To pay by internet banking:
- log in to your bank account
- select your bill Payment function
- click ‘Payee’ and use the search function to search for ‘Rotorua Lakes Council’ (you do not need the bank account number)
- select ‘Rotorua Lakes Council…. Misc Invoice Payments’ and the correct bank details will be entered automatically
- enter the amount to be paid
- click statement details and enter the Particulars and Code details from your invoice
- click approve payment
If you experience difficulty with your internet banking contact your bank's Customer Service 0800 number.
In person
Pay by cash, EFTPOS or credit card at the Customer Service Centre in the Civic Centre, 1061 Haupapa Street, Rotorua from 8am to 5pm weekdays (except public holidays).
Remember to bring the invoice with you as you will need the payment details.
